Checklists
Before every trade
Tap each line as you check it. Your ticks are remembered on this device.
- I know why I am taking this trade, in one sentence.
- My stop-loss is set, and I know exactly where it is.
- I am risking 1–2% of my account or less (see the position size calculator).
- The reward is at least twice the risk (see risk/reward).
- If I use leverage, I know my liquidation price and it is far beyond my stop.
- I have checked the higher time frame and the trend.
- No big news is due in the next hours (rate decision, CPI, token unlock).
- I am not trading to win back a loss, out of boredom or out of FOMO.
- I know where I will take profit.
- I will write this trade in my journal.
Scam red flags
Tick every line that is true for the project, offer or message in front of you. One tick is a reason to slow down. Two or more: walk away.
- Someone contacted me first (DM, comment reply, “support” agent).
- I am asked for my seed phrase or private key. Always a scam.
- I have to send crypto first to receive more back, or to “unlock” a withdrawal.
- Profits are guaranteed, or returns are fixed and very high.
- There is pressure to act now: a countdown, “last spots”, “only today”.
- The website, app or token name is a near-copy of a known one, or I reached it through an ad.
- A wallet asks me to sign something I do not understand, or to approve unlimited spending.
- The team is anonymous and the token contract is not verified, or I cannot sell (honeypot).
- Most of the supply sits in a few wallets, or the liquidity is not locked.
- A celebrity or KOL “giveaway” promises to double what I send.
