How Base Camp reports the news, where our money comes from and what we do when we get something wrong.
Who we are
Base Camp is a free crypto news and learning site run by five traders: VikingXBT, TheCryptoMonk, Satoshi Flipper, TANG and Teddy. Every article carries the name of the crew member who wrote it, with a link to their profile and their X account. No project pays us to cover it, and our Telegram community is free to join.
How we report
- We go to the source: filings, official announcements, exchange and onchain data, and the original X post. When we quote a number, we link to where it came from.
- Prices and figures are checked at the time of writing and dated. Times are given in UTC.
- When a story moves on, we write a new article that links back, so earlier articles stay a record of what was known at the time.
- Chart reads and opinions are the author’s own and are written as analysis, not as fact.
Corrections
If we get a fact wrong, we fix it and add a dated correction note at the end of the article saying what changed. Spotted an error? Email [email protected].
Products we feature
- We only feature exchanges, apps and tools we like and would use ourselves. We pick the product first. Some of them pay us a commission through an affiliate link, many do not.
- Affiliate links and sponsored boxes are labelled where they appear. See our affiliate disclosure.
- Partners never see or approve an article before it is published, and they have no say in what we cover.
- Nothing on Base Camp is financial advice. Crypto is risky: only trade what you can afford to lose. See our disclaimer.
