Bubblemaps Upbit Listing Sends BMT Up 94%, and the First Hour Was the Top

The short version

  • The Bubblemaps Upbit listing sent BMT from $0.0265 to $0.0514 on Binance within an hour of the notice on October 24, as Upbit traded about $62 million of it in the first hour.
  • Korean buyers paid up to $0.0732 at the Upbit peak 16 minutes into trading, about 47% over the global price, and BMT now trades near $0.0335, about 35% below its high.
  • The crew is watching $0.0265, the price before the notice; in our check of 25 recent Upbit listings, 24 were below their first-hour high a day later.

The Bubblemaps Upbit listing did what Upbit listings do: one violent hour, then a long walk down. Upbit, South Korea’s biggest exchange, added BMT to its won market on October 24, and the token went from $0.0265 to $0.0514 on Binance in under an hour. At the time of writing it trades at $0.0335, about 35% below that high.

The top came in the first hour. On Upbit itself it came 16 minutes after trading opened. That is not bad luck, it is the usual shape, and we checked 25 recent Upbit listings to show it. So why does an Upbit listing pump so hard and fade so fast, and what does it leave behind for a $25 million token?

Bubblemaps is best known for tracing wallets behind big claims. This thread, two days before the listing, is a typical one:

What Happened With the Bubblemaps Upbit Listing?

Upbit posted the notice at about 02:35 UTC and opened the BMT won market at 03:00 UTC, which gave traders 25 minutes to react. They didn’t need that long. BMT jumped from $0.0265 to $0.044 on Binance within 15 minutes of the notice, before a single Korean won had been traded.

Won trading opened with the usual guard rails: buy orders blocked for the first few minutes, limit orders only for about two hours, and no sell orders far below the reference price. Then the buying hit. Upbit traded about $62 million of BMT in its first hour, more than twice the token’s whole market value, which CoinGecko puts at about $25 million at the time of writing. The Upbit price ran from $0.043 to $0.0732 by 03:16 UTC.

That $0.0732 is the number that shows who bought the top. In the same minute BMT traded just under $0.05 on Binance, so Upbit buyers paid about 47% more than the rest of the world. That gap is the kimchi premium, and arbitrage traders close it as fast as they can move coins in. On the Upbit BMT market the price is now $0.0341, 53% below its peak, and hourly volume has dropped from $62 million to a few million dollars.

Two details matter for context. BMT is not new to Upbit: it has traded in Upbit’s much smaller BTC and USDT markets since August 21, 2026, and only now got a won pair, which is where Korean retail actually trades. And BMT was already moving before the notice, up from $0.0165 on October 18 to $0.0262 on October 22.

Why Is the First Hour of an Upbit Listing Usually the Top?

Because every buyer who was waiting arrives at once, and they pay the most. We pulled Upbit’s hourly data for the 25 tokens it added to its won market since August 1, stablecoins left out. Here is what happened after the first hour:

  • The first hour was the peak for 13 of the 25, and for 15 of them within two hours.
  • 24 hours later, 24 of the 25 traded below their first-hour high, by a median of 23%.
  • About a week later, 21 of the 22 with a full week of data were still below it, by a median of 32%. DOS, NCT and PUFFER were down more than 60%.

The mechanics explain the pattern. Traders outside Korea buy on the notice, before won trading starts, so the first Korean buyers are already paying a higher price. The listing pulls in a crowd of new buyers in minutes, and the people who bought earlier, offshore or in the BTC market, now have someone to sell to. Once the premium is closed and the crowd is in, there is no fresh buyer left.

Research firm Four Pillars found the same fade in its August study: among Upbit listings that gained more than 40% on day one, the day-seven close sat a median 45% below the day-one high. It also found that tokens moving from the BTC market to a won pair, like BMT, gained a median of 19% this year. BMT’s 70% first-hour run on Upbit was well above that.

What Is Bubblemaps (BMT)?

Bubblemaps is an on-chain tool that draws a token’s holders as bubbles and links the wallets that sent coins to each other. Large connected clusters often mean a team, an insider group or one trader spread across many wallets, which is why traders check it before buying a new coin. BMT, per the Bubblemaps wiki, powers its V2 maps and its Intel Desk, and runs on Solana and BNB Chain with a maximum supply of 1 billion.

About 753 million BMT are in circulation, according to CoinGecko. The token listed on Binance on March 18, 2025, and peaked at $0.317 that day. Even after today’s pump it trades about 89% below that.

There is an irony in today’s flags. Upbit marks BMT’s BTC market with a caution for trading concentrated in a small number of accounts, and its USDT market for price swings. A tool built to spot crowded wallets got a crowding warning on its own coin, though on Upbit’s thinnest market.

BMT Price Analysis: Where Does Bubblemaps Go After the Listing Pump?

The BMT price is sliding back toward the level it held before the notice, in line with most recent Upbit listings. It has made lower highs since the $0.0514 top, and the hourly 50 EMA sits at $0.029, still under the price. Volume on Binance has dropped from $10.8 million in the listing hour to under $2 million an hour.

The levels the crew is watching:

  • Bull case: a reclaim of $0.0468, the lower high from 05:00 UTC, would show buyers absorbing the listing supply and open a retest of $0.0514.
  • Base case: a range between $0.0265, the price before the notice, and $0.0468 while volume cools.
  • Bear case: a break of $0.0265 hands back the whole listing move and opens $0.0218, the October 23 low near the hourly 200 EMA at $0.0227.

The Bubblemaps Upbit listing paid the traders who bought before the notice. For anyone chasing the next one, the data says the same thing almost every time: the first hour is when Korean buyers pay the most, and that is rarely the time to buy.
