Tokenized stocks: chip tokens jump on Binance as Anthropic revives the AI trade, an HBM memory chip under clocks for New York (closed), Seoul (open) and Binance (24/7), with SOXLB +10.2% and SKHYB +5.2% tags

The short version

  • Tokenized stocks tracking chipmakers jumped on Binance in the 24 hours to Tuesday morning, led by the 3x chip token SOXLB at +10.2% and SK hynix’s SKHYB at +5.2%.
  • Anthropic’s S-1 names SK hynix, Samsung and Micron as the main makers of the memory AI runs on, and the chip index rose 2.82% on Monday.
  • The crew is watching SKHYB when SK hynix reports at 00:00 UTC on Wednesday, hours before Nasdaq opens; SOXLB’s line is SOXL’s $90.72 close.

Tokenized stocks had a chip day on Binance. In the 24 hours to Tuesday morning, SOXLB, the token for a 3x leveraged chip ETF, rose 10.2% to $90.19 on $26.8 million of volume. The SK hynix token SKHYB gained 5.2% to $145.44, Intel’s added 5.2% and Micron’s 4.6% to $913.

The spark was a filing, not a chip launch. Anthropic’s IPO prospectus spelled out how much the AI race leans on three memory makers, and traders bought all three. So what did the token board show that Nasdaq couldn’t?

Anthropic announced the filing on Monday:

Anthropic has filed an S-1 registration statement with the SEC related to its proposed IPO.

Why Are Chip Stocks Up?

Because Anthropic’s S-1 told the market that one of AI’s biggest buyers still worries about getting enough memory. In its risk factors, the filing says high bandwidth memory, the chips stacked next to AI processors, is “largely manufactured by SK hynix Inc., Samsung Electronics Co., and Micron Technology, Inc.” and that there is “no guarantee” their new capacity arrives fast enough.

That read as a demand signal. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 2.82% on Monday. SK hynix’s US shares closed up 4.09% at $143.62 and Micron up 2.98% at $903.70, according to Financial News. The same S-1 on the SEC’s site shows Anthropic agreed to spend up to $120.5 billion with SpaceX’s AI unit for Nvidia GPU compute, about $3.1 billion a month once all of it is delivered in December.

It is a bounce inside a rout. SOXLB closed at $166.98 on October 4 and still sits about 46% below that close.

What Did Tokenized Stocks Do While Nasdaq Was Closed?

The rally kept going for a few hours after the US close, then faded. Nasdaq shut at 20:00 UTC. When Seoul opened four hours later, SKHYB climbed from $142.76 to $148.65 and KORUB, a 3x South Korea token, from $10.90 to $11.85, an 8.7% jump with Nasdaq’s regular session long over.

Seoul did the rest. The KOSPI closed up 3.09% at 5,638.34, with SK hynix up 5.18% and Samsung up 4.23%, the Seoul Economic Daily reported.

By the European morning the overnight gains were mostly gone. SOXLB hit $94.29 around midnight UTC, dipped to $87.69 and trades near $90 at the time of writing, a touch under SOXL’s $90.72 Nasdaq close. About $18 million changed hands in SOXLB, SKHYB and KORUB between the US close and 08:00 UTC.

The busiest of Binance’s tokenized stocks wasn’t a chip at all. SpaceX’s SPCXb traded $34.3 million and barely moved, while Circle’s token slid 4.3% on $28.4 million.

What Comes Next for Chip Stocks?

SK hynix reports first. The company will publish its third-quarter results before 9:00 a.m. in Seoul on Wednesday, which is 00:00 UTC (8:00 p.m. Tuesday in New York). Nasdaq will be shut, so SKHYB on Binance and the KOSPI get the first say.

Then the week stacks up. Samsung reports on Thursday. Microsoft and Alphabet report after the US close on Wednesday, the same day the Fed decides at 18:00 UTC (2:00 p.m. in Washington). Our big tech earnings preview has the dates and what AI spending did to Bitcoin last week.

One warning on SOXLB and KORUB: both track 3x leveraged ETFs that reset every day, so a choppy week can lose money even if chip stocks end flat. For SOXLB, $90.72, Monday’s SOXL close, is the line between holding the rally and handing it back.
