What Happened to Machi Big Brother’s ETH Long?
It got squeezed from both ends of the week. On Wednesday at about 16:00 UTC (11:00 a.m. in New York), his wallet bought 3,485 ETH at an average of $2,436.84, roughly $8.5 million of Ethereum, close to the day’s high of $2,450.
Then the market rolled over. As stocks and crypto sold off on Thursday, he spent the afternoon cutting the position, selling about 7,000 ETH between 12:30 and 15:50 UTC while Ethereum slid from about $2,396 to $2,247. The early sales were small wins. The later ones weren’t.
What he kept, he topped up. Two USDC transfers worth about $40,000 landed in the account at 16:41 and 20:56 UTC, and he bought back around 380 ETH. At 23:00 UTC Ethereum touched $2,209 and the liquidation engine took 136 ETH off him. He sold another 44 ETH himself minutes later.
According to Lookonchain, the $223,000 he raised by selling 15 NFTs at a $505,000 loss over the past four days was wiped out in that move. The OpenSea record shows the apes going for 5.45 to 11 ETH each.

How Bad Is the Damage Now?
Machi liquidated again is only the latest chapter. Hyperliquid’s own account data shows how big this Hyperliquid whale’s hole has become:
- All-time result: minus $37.40 million, from a peak of plus $44.84 million on September 17, 2025. That is an $82 million swing.
- The last 30 days: minus $11.32 million.
- The last 24 hours: minus $549,000.
- Funding paid on his ETH longs over time: $4.96 million, money that went to the shorts on the other side.
Lookonchain counts another $909,000 lost on Papertrade, a second trading platform he has been using.
None of this has slowed him down. At the time of writing, the wallet holds a fresh 530 ETH long at 25x leverage, worth about $1.18 million, opened at an average of $2,305.27. There is only about $42,000 of margin behind it.

Ethereum Price: How Close Is the Next Liquidation?

Very close. The Ethereum price is $2,237 at the time of writing, down about 7.5% in 24 hours, and Machi’s new long gets liquidated at $2,201. That is less than 2% below the current price.
Thursday’s low was $2,206. Ethereum has already been within a few dollars of that line once this week, and it bounced off $2,174 in late October.
- The line that matters: $2,201. A wick to it closes the new position.
- The next floor: the 200-day moving average (the average close of the last 200 days) at $2,158.
- The ceiling: his own entry at $2,305. Above it the trade is back in profit, and the 50-day average sits much higher at $2,500.
With a cross-margin account, any new deposit pushes the liquidation price lower. That is how Machi Big Brother has kept this trade alive for weeks: more margin, more ETH, another liquidation, repeat.
TRAIL MAP: Risk Management: The 1% Rule and Position Sizing That Keeps You in the Game
At its peak in September 2025, this account held $50.4 million. At the time of writing it holds about $42,000, all of it riding on Ethereum staying above $2,200.
